July 2022 – Eleanor’s graduation

July deserves two posts as this included the graduation of Eleanor as a teacher and proud parent moments.

Linda travelled north to celebrate. Tom was still a prilgimming…

Before the graduation day the girls had a fun time exploring Sunderland – who knew the beach would be so good. Don’t mention the dodgy prawns!

Oops there are quite a few cheers going on here…

June 2022

Well what do you know? Linda got back to Norfolk.

Tom went off leading pilgrim tours and got the ‘Get out of jail’ card

Linda played with friends while the cat was away

But let Tom join them when he dropped by for a weekend

Followed by a special visit from our American friends – we appreciated the effort they made to come to see us

April 2022 – all things family

What a pleasure to be back together as family. We have all missed these opportunities over the past couple of years. Easter coincided with Eleanor’s birthday. Back to Norfolk again.

Recreation of an old photo when Eleanor was a baby bathed in the sink… And here it is

Then we had our first camping trip to Walton on Thames and met up with more close friends in Twickenham after far too long

IT skills not so good – can’t understand why the program want to focus on a pop up latrine!

March 2022

Travels start to get wider afield for Linda, catching up with more very special fiends in Kent and then surprise warm weather talks with Tom, and finally our first trip of the year to Norfolk. More of THE hat!

Yes we really did walk past a field of elephants at the side of the footpath.

The Grand Union Canal near Leighton Buzzard in all its glorious March sunshine

Yes Linda did have a ride on memory lane. Mummy was very happy to be back.

But we will leave you with an image of why we love Norfolk so much …

February 2022

Getting out in the wintry weather suits us just fine. Linda is never happier than when she is sporting a woolly hat, and Tom is becoming a dapper cap wearer!

First there was a revisit to Quainton for a hike up the hill. ‘Beam me up’ said Linda.

Then Linda and Brenda went to Suffolk to visit very close family friends – Christine is like an adopted sister. We had plenty of opportunities for hats AND umbrellas!

Happy Christmas 2021 from the Bartletts

We hope that you have a blessed Christmas and that this year you are able to be with the ones you love

Enjoy scrolling through the posts for this year and even travel back in time – if you have any of that precious commodity! This website is not easy to navigate this year. Nightmare. You will need to follow links at the bottom of each post to previous or next posts. If you get through to December 2020 by going back month by month then you have cracked it!

It has been another year of upheaval and uncertainty but we are immensely grateful for our loved and loving family and friends. Keeping in touch has meant so much to us. We have a lot to be thankful for. We are all gainfully employed in work that is fulfilling, and we hope that we will continue to be able to contribute well in 2022. We two continue to share our home with two indoor cats and the two ‘outdoor cats’ have spent a lot of time enjoying the countryside around North Buckinghamshire.

Our hope and prayer is that in 2022 the pandemic will finally come under control, the World will be vaccinated and we can all become relatively safe to fully resume the life we previously enjoyed – albeit will in many ways be different. May you be blessed this Christmas.

Home 2021

Here is a tiny update about home. We have spent a lot of time there, as you all have. We are both designated as home workers now and actually we really like the companionship of occasional shared lunches and the Butler fetching Linda a hot drink when she is wilting! We still share home with two crazy kitties – well Edgar is crazy and Bella is long suffering. I realise that there is a dearth of kitty pictures this year. The garden was again a place of solace, although this year sadly there was less time for nurturing.
